For the short piece 'Le Magicien' this Hohner La Divina accordian needed a little work to get it ready to play for recording.

The metal reeds at some point had picked up a lot of moisture and these needed to be carefully cleaned up to get the tuning a little better. A few of the leathers that react to the opening and closing of the bellows also had to be re applied. Thankfully the bellows are in good condition and do not leak any air.

It was also a good opportunity to clean up the instrument overall as it was looking really neglected. The metal grill was seriously tarnished so this needed a fair bit of elbow grease to get it looking better.

Quick restoration complete and the instrument was perfect for playing the melody of Le Magicien. I might have caught the accordian bug and could well gravitate to a piano accordian with more range at some point.

Oh, The ticking is the Grandfather clock pictured below. It was easy enough to put a microphone inside.
